Flag - Fransheska Larios

While trying to figure out how to design my flag I thought of what exactly represents me, personality-wise. I consider myself more of an introverted person so I relied on that aspect in my design while also showcasing some contrast. The Macaw bird is a national animal for Honduras, the country I was born in. However, this bird is not just a symbol of my background. A macaw bird is known for its bright feathers and as someone who loves art and is majoring in graphic design, I thought it was a nice choice to depict color. Another aspect of the bird is its complete opposite personality compared to mine. While a Macaw bird is known to be ‘sassy’ and loud I consider myself to be the opposite of that. The branch that it’s standing turns around to make an almost circle, its meaning derives from life and family. I am very appreciative of what I have and the family I have that's supported me all along so I had to include some of that into this piece. To close the circle is a shell, I think that most of the time I like to remain in my shell. I get comfortable with my surroundings and it’s very hard to establish myself into a new scenario, which is something that I’ve been working on, but I decided to add that about myself to tie things up. The words at the bottom are very important to me as a woman and there was no way I could not add some detail towards that in this piece.
