Inner Peace

 

    I decided to base my project on my crystal collection. A few reasons why I picked my crystal collection are because the first assignment for this class I used a couple crystals, so I wanted to end it with my crystals. Also, my collection describes me as a person and connection to each crystal. My project was inspired by performance art by Marina Abramovich and Andy Warhol. The inspiration from Andy Warhol comes from his artwork and the recreating the same picture with a different color scheme. The performance art piece shows me burning a Palo Santo stick and cleaning my collection with the smoke. Palo Santo is used to remove any negative energy or obstacles from your home or space. After making this project I noticed the differences between the first self- portrait and this project. My view of art has defiantly change, I used to think someone had to be creative and know how to draw to make art. However, art comes in many different forms like music, makeup, drawings, paintings, performance, etc. And anyone can make art as long as one is happy with their artwork.
